I started hairdressing in 1997 working in a local salon and attended Huddersfield technical college on day release, in 1998 I started working in Almondbury.
I still attended college and achieve my NVQ in hairdressing in October 1999. I also attended the WeIla studios in Manchester on an advanced colour course.

I left in early 2000 due to a life long ambition to travel the world, when I was traveling in New-Zealand I came across Toni & Guy and thought when I got home that's where I wanted to work.

Upon my return I applied for a position at Toni & Guy in Huddersfield as a colour technician, I was accepted shortly after and within a few weeks was in London training at the Toni & Guy academy for Six weeks.
I return home and worked on the shop floor. After a year I was promoted to senior technician and then a year after that promoted as a head technician. Within this time I attended L'Oreal colour course's, Toni & Guy art meetings and controlled most of the technical staff training and also gained my D32, D33 assessors qualification in 2002.

In early 2003 I decided I wanted to get more involved with training and teaching others so I applied for a position working for Toni & Guy NVQ training in February 2003 and got the position. This involved working up and down the country in different Toni & Guy salons teaching and assessing NVQ.
In 2005 I started working on my V1 internal verifying qualification and worked supporting other assessors; in May 2006 I achieved my qualification.

I am still very interested in teaching and hope to have our own academy and chain of salons in the near future.

Lisa.
